Graduate Assistant in Museology Review
The Graduate Assistant in Museology Review is an appointment that runs in the fall, spring AND summer semesters. Only students who are able to guarantee availability to live and work in Florence over the summer semester may apply for this position. The position requires 10 to 15 hours per week in the Lorenzo de'Medici offices, compensated at a rate of $12 per hour. The actual number of hours completed in any given week may not exceed 15 hours. A maximum of two of the weekly worked hours can be done from home with prior approval from the supervisor.
The Graduate Assistant in Museology Review will work as a co-editor along with a second student co-editor from the University of Florence, to produce an online publication of museology reviews for the Flon’thego website. Both co-editors will create and solicit from other graduate students, short reviews of regional exhibitions, permanent installations, and other program reviews and work together to translate them for the bilingual publication online. The graduate assistant will be responsible for collecting, editing and translating of reviews – as well as coordinating with publication sites. The Graduate Assistant in Museology Review will work closely with the LdM web director, the M.A. Program Director and the University of Florence Museology chair.
