Fashion CAD I

Fashion Design B.F.A. – Florence

Fashion CAD I – FASH 200 – Credits: 3 – Contact Hours: 60

Fashion CAD I will teach Fashion Design Bachelor’s degree students how to transfer their sketches to computer generated renderings of garments. The course outlines basic tools and techniques of Computer Aided Design used in the fashion industry through Adobe Illustrator® and Adobe Photoshop®.

Fashion Computer Aided Design I is a course requirement within the study abroad Fashion Design degree at Marist-LdM.

Design Computer Principles Course Overview

The Fashion CAD I course is centered on one main project where students create their own presentation working through concept details such as rendering for technical and presentation formats, color cards and color ways. The final completed collection will be presented at the close of the course. It is advised that students have significant understanding of garment structure to help with the creating of CAD renderings.

A lab fee is required for this course. Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I, or equivalent.
