After completing Fashion Design I: Drawing and Color, students will progress into the intermediate Fashion Design II course, focusing on illustration and presentation. Students will be expected to understand the basics of fashion design in order to develop fast sketching techniques of real life fashion models while also rendering garments and textures. Attention to detail as well as the development of the fit and fall of clothing sketches is important to success in the course. Students will develop their personal design styles through creating fast fashion sketch presentations.
Fashion Design II: Presentation is a course requirement within the Fashion Design Bachelor’s degree at Marist LdM.
Fashion Illustration Presentation Course Overvie
The Fashion Design II course, through the Marist LdM four-year study abroad Fashion Design degree, is aimed at developing student’s personal design and sketching style. Students have the opportunity to create renderings of garments based off their own creativity, style, skill level and research of the fashion industry and it’s trends. The course incorporates visits to fashion fairs, design studios and exhibitions to assist in inspirational development. All renderings will be presented and critiqued to help students improve upon their skills.
Prerequisite: Fashion Design I: Drawing & Color, or equivalent.
