Introduction to the Fashion Industry course, under the Bachelor’s in Fashion Design in Florence Italy at Marist-LdM, introduces students to the fashion industry with an overview of the development of research and design throughout history. The course also considers all applications of fashion design, from marketing to the finished product being sold in stores.

Intro to Fashion Industry Course Overview

Students will consider potential career opportunities within the field. Topics covered include the origins of fashion in fabric, yarn, and knitwear. These topics are essential to understanding the role of fashion in Florence and the phenomenon known as “Made in Italy.” Students will also study the processes of production, from creating a concept of apparel to the moment it reaches consumers.
